Benefits Of Regular Breast Massage For Women

Copyright © 2010 - 2013 Chattanooga Massage & Bodyworks
The breasts, like all parts of the human body can benefit from massage. There are many reasons why every woman should have therapeutic breast massage included in her regular massage. Massage on the breast area and underlying musculature is necessary for providing full body work on a woman, and it provides for better alignment, posture, and relaxation, as well as helps address upper back pain issues.

The breasts are dependent on blood and lymph circulation, and have no inherant aids like muscle and joint activity to promote circulation and lymph drainage. Unhealthy toxins can be stored in breast tissue; just as it can be stored in muscle tissue. These toxins can build to unhealthy levels, which can lead to breast cancer according to some experts. Massage can help increase blood and lymph flow, which will help the body flush these unwanted toxins, and can reduce the risks of fibroids and cysts. Focusing on preventative medicine and taking a rational proactive step; breast massage along with a healthy lifestyle may reduce the risk of breast cancer.

Breast massage is also great for relieving pain associated with the compression of improperly fitted bras. Tight fitting bras reduce the natural "bounce" of the breasts; therefore reducing the body's natural method of lymph circulation. This can create a chronic congestion issue because of inadequate tissue clearance; resulting in pain and degenerative tissue change.
Women who have had breast augmentation surgery, or corrective surgery after a mastectomy have yet another reason to consider breast massage. Adhesion's can form between the implants and the body's natural tissues. Most plastic surgeons recommend regular breast massage to help prevent these adhesion's from forming.

Contrary to what some people may think, breast massage is a form of therapeutic massage. It is designed to help increase blood and lymph flow. Breast massage can help during a premenstrual cycle or when nursing, when some women suffer tenderness in their breasts. It will also help after surgery; to reduce scar tissue marks.

It is also claimed that breast massage, when done regularly, can also help firm and tone the breasts. This is because there are no muscles in breast tissue that you could exercise to get a rounder look; like with other parts of the body. Therefore, the only method of getting better shaped breasts is massage. Improved circulation will help tone up the tissues which can help tighten sagging skin.
