Hot Stone Massage or Hot Stone Treatment? Both will enhance your massage experience!

Hot Stone Massage Service & Benefits

Get the relief your body deserves with a hot stone massage. The therapists at Chattanooga Massage & Bodyworks use genuine Basalt stones. These stones are rich in iron so they retain the heat well. We heat them to approximately 130°. We then apply almond oil to the stones so they will glide over your skin and muscles smoothly. The heat of the stones sinks deep into your muscles releasing and soothing tight muscles, and allows for deeper work if desired. The constant movement of the stones by the massage therapist prevents your skin from being burned.

This style of bodywork takes you into deep states of relaxation, releasing stress and anxiety, detoxifying the body, and balancing your nervous system. It is a great massage benefit for people who are usually chilly or suffer from cold feet. Hot stone massage is also great for people who like a lighter massage. The heat relaxes the muscles and allows the therapist to penetrate the muscle layers with less pressure than a deep tissue massage requires.

We offer both a complete Hot Stone Massage, and a Hot Stone Treatment.

The Hot Stone Massage is done almost exclusively using the stones. Some gentle massage strokes and techniques are used in conjunction with stones during the massage. The heat of the stones is used to soften and relax loose tight muscles.

The Hot Stone Treatment is an add-on service to our other massage services. We use the stones sparingly during the massage, and more regular massage techniques are used. The benefits of a hot stone treatment are allowing deeper work with less pressure as the muscles are warmed and relaxed by the stones. Additionaly, for someone who has never had a hot stone massage, it is a great way to “sample” what hot stone massage feels like, while receiving the benefits of a regular massage.

Rates:
Hot Stone Massage $100(90 minutes)
Hot Stone Treatment (added to any 1 hour or longer massage) $20
